Participation in Fashion Fictions often generates a sense of wonder: a new perspective on our real-world experiences of fashion.

The speculative activities take us away from the real world while wonder brings us back, with fresh eyes and a more open mind.

Wonder can prompt people to ask questions about the status quo; to identify precedents, whether historical or contemporary, that can inspire different ways of living with our clothes; and to come up with ideas for action, whether personal or collective, to drive change in the real world.

These thoughts might be personal or collective, modest or bold. Many can be traced directly to the fictions, while others emerge through the process of speculation.

Questions, precedents and ideas for action gathered from project participants are presented here as a compendium of inspiration for real-world change.

In a state of wonder we feel possible.
