World 50, Exploration B

Blog post about highly decorated trousers.

This blog demonstrates a collection of items that have been collected from World 50. This world puts intense importance on collecting markings and ‘signatures’ throughout your life. Clothing has transformed into a vessel for bonding where the longer an item of clothing is worn and owned, the more valuable it becomes. These items have an immense emotional value to the original owners and every person that has interacted with them and helped to create them. Observing them may allow for a better understanding of the emotional connection that people form with those around them.

This Exploration was contributed by Mindy Manley, Mollie-May Manley and Fashion Fictions contributors (located in the UK, Hong Kong and China), developed from a World contributed by Matthew Crowley, using a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence which allows others to share and adapt the work in any medium and for any purpose, providing that they credit the authors and share their material using the same Creative Commons licence.

Does this World remind you of something?

I am keen to hear about any historical or contemporary real-world examples – whether individual practices, subcultures or mainstream activities – that this fiction brings to mind.

Please share any such examples using this form. Thank you!
