World 253

In World 253 every large city is home to a thriving, autonomous community sector known as “Fabrik” (combination of the words Fabric and Brick) where innovative and sustainable construction materials are produced from old textile waste. These centers feature open workshops, learning spaces, textile recycling areas, as well as places for shredding, compressing, and weaving.

Skilled professionals, artists, and community members collaborate closely, exchanging ideas and supporting each other. They are paid fairly hourly and receive a portion of the output for personal use.

“Fabrik” also offers advice and building plans for independent construction. The atmosphere is one of unity and shared purpose, with the center serving as a profitable symbol of the community’s resourcefulness, ingenuity, and resilience.

What if …

… the United Nations issued a statement prohibiting the industrial production of construction materials?

Issue targeted:

Textile waste, overuse of resources
