World 51 is triggered by the Covid pandemic. What if clothes were not seen as externalities and instead were treated as our skin?
We stop buying clothes for 1 year. We rework our existing wardrobe eliminating a . Ego / b. Synthetics / c. Chemical dyes. We move towards a simpler, natural, hand-repaired, personalized version of dressing ourselves. We sew the repairs ourselves, exchange outfits, learn to natural dye. Clothes are given attention, care and embody a vocabulary of integration with our individual body. We coerce the fashion companies to do the same. A new system of consuming emerges after 1 year.
What if …
we stopped buying outfits for one whole year?
Issue targeted:
reuse and redo
