World 208, Exploration A

Hand holding a piece of handwritten text, headed The Mirror of Life, describing the world where we are 100% true to ourselves and others, alongside a series of diminishing monochrome images of a figure fading into the distance.

In World 208, people wear their emotions. In this world, bodies don’t exist. People are their thoughts, feelings, and opinions.

This installation enables people in our world to get a sense of life in the parallel world. Three rooms are based on the three heaviest emotions that follow up on each other.

The first one is feeling fear, maybe fear of an outcome of a situation or experience, or fear of the unknown, then feeling the anger of the response to that situation, or what I could have done or should have done, and the last is the sadness that becomes from feeling the intense emotion of anger.

Does this World remind you of something?

I am keen to hear about any historical or contemporary real-world examples – whether individual practices, subcultures or mainstream activities – that this fiction brings to mind.

Please share any such examples using this form. Thank you!
